For the best conflict responses of anyone I know. She embodies the truth of spirit made active. Her gentle honesty, tenacious pursuit of excellence, willingness to hear and engage criticism remind me every day that I have a ways to go.
Donna Umali Mendoza
One of the most strategically creative women I know. She’s a great mom, friend and supporter of other women.
For knowing what was right for her and pursuing it with joy. And, I have to mention her entrepreneurial flair.
The EPA Administrator is stepping down but this chemical engineer was in the thick of controversies over global warming, mining. Targeted — one Congressperson bragged that she was going to need a permanent parking space because she was going to be dragged to the Hill so often – she never backed down. She also showed me that fighting the good fight doesn’t have to go on forever.
Rep. Barbara Lee
In 1999, she was the only congressperson to vote against the Iraq War Resolution of 2002. That’s right – no one else from young turks to old heads – voted against it. Two years ago she took the food stamp challenge. It’s one thing to talk about it, another thing entirely to be about it.
Sis. Brenda Darby
For being an awesome ministry partner who has become a friend.
Happy 2013 to each one! They inspire me from afar, in person and on Facebook to try harder every day.
