Things I Like — Pranidhi Varshney, Artist, Yogini

Pranishi Varshney is an artist. A trained actor and singer, she is also an accomplished yoga instructor. This isn’t something she does as a side gig. She is serious. Her teaching is disciplined, demanding, compassionate and embracing. At the same time, she has a piercing intelligence and wry sense of humor, an unusual but very welcome combination of traits.

I met Pranidhi in a scary-good ashtanga class that I plan to return to this fall (knee injury). One of the best parts of the class was listening to her beautiful, clear, soulful singing. It was mesmerizing.

Her album was released a month ago but with the advent of fall I thought it deserved another boost.  This music isn’t just for people who are into yoga. These mantras will touch you much  more than generic relaxation music. If you let them, they will lift your spirits.  What could be more essential for these challenging times?

You can listen and download here: To purchase physical CDs, visit the following link and click on the Paypal button below the music player:  where you’ll also find chant translations. As you might expect, part of the proceeds are being donated to Yoga Gives Back.
