Summer Fun

Stacee Jaxx may not rule. He’s probably more like Joe Biden but who cares? This visually inventive, musical soars.  Why it isn’t giving The Blues Brothers, another late June release, a run for its money is hard to understand.  And did you ever stop to think about how seldom you’ve seen Mary J. Blige on television chat shows, guest roles or films despite her huge musical success.  Hmmm…

Don’t get me wrong. I liked The Avengers. It was a good time, not up to Dark Knight standards, but fun. In any event, I’m comic book movied out. The Dark Knight Rises looks like it may have succumbed to Spiderman 3 style bombast. I’ll catch MIB:3 when it hits the swap meet.

I’m looking forward to Brave — I’m overlooking the fact the first female director being fired thing … for the moment — but whatever happened to live action summer fun?
