Have people forgotten the terrors of childhood so quickly? The adults who would not understand or pretended that they didn’t remember. The groomers who were preparing our minds to accept violation and manipulation?
I saw a schoolyard fight where a girl’s skull was pounded so hard against the concrete that I felt the vibrations. I’ve never forgotten it. And I’m sure she hasn’t either.
I remember trying to find still other ways home to avoid another beating or confrontation with Moochie and the gang.
So I don’t understand the rating for Bully (2012). I don’t understand bully denial. I don’t understand why folks think we need bullying to teach hardness/strength/toughness.
I haven’t seen the film but even if it sucks, it will help some child to have his or her reality validated.
