The gender politics reeducation police.
They never rest. Their work is never done. Not until traditional gender roles are solidly back in play.
I. A gospel radio program celebrates a woman’s need to submit. The majority of the callers were women. Not content to follow this advice themselves, they called in to exhort and harangue others.
Many men who wouldn’t recognize a Bible if it slapped them in the head looove Colossians 3:18-22 and Ephesians 5:22.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands …
For some reason, “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ” didn’t come up. Rarely/never does.
II. A blogger raises the alarm that Obama might be “whipped,” i.e., taking too much advice – even to the point of being checked – from his wife.
III. My condo complex is in decline. A neighbor mentioned that she was hoping some men would move in to save us.
As my great and good friend Margo Malone once mentioned, Ain’t no white horse coming.
It’s one thing to like and respect men. It’s another thing to think that they are superheroes.
Partnership is the only that has led to sustainable change and I believe it is the only thing that ever will.
