Once again, minimal standards are thrown to the wind for “corporate cred.” Or just because someone wants his way. And once again, a new precedent of lowering the bar, bending the rules, shredding the law is reaffirmed. How many times do we have to go down this road before we are satisfied that it doesn’t work?
And. The magazine world where top editors rule like pashas isn’t in my view a good breeding ground for top public executives. The Devil Wears Prada wasn’t too far wrong. And USA Today? No disrespect to the men and women who work there but this is a newspaper that was designed to resemble a television set. There’s way more diversity at IBM and Google than there is in publishing.
So if Ms. Black’s not working out should we be shocked?
