Mitrice Richardson, Rest in Peace

My prayers for Ms. Richardson’s spirit and for her family.

Dead over an $89 restaurant bill that her grandmother was willing to pay over the phone.

Why was she arrested and not fined?

Someone wanted to teach her a lesson.  You don’t think so?  Look at the contemptuous treatment her family received after her disappearance.

I only hope that someone from the Sheriff’s Office contacted her family before the press conference.  Having been involved personally in comparable situations, I know this was not a given.

Released in the Malibu Hills in the dead of night without a phone, car or money less than two miles from the sheriff’s station.  I wonder how long it took her to die.  I can’t imagine the spiritual, physical and psychological pain she must have faced at the end.

But someone followed procedure to the letter, CYA’ing.

I wonder how Maia Campbell is.  And all the others …
