Erased Contributions

Lance Orton, a Vietnam Vet and t-shirt vendor, who alerted the police to the Times Square terrorist plot has been described as grumpy.   I would be grumpy too if I came back from Vietnam to face poor VA health care and continued racism.   I’m also willing to guess that he’s had his fair share of dissing from the NYPD.  And can his grumpiness compare to that of armed teabag protestors?

Hmmmm.

Yet, he did the right thing.  He’s a hero.  He was out there earning a legit living for he and his.  Sadly, I think his contribution is going to disappeared.

There are definite echoes of Frank Wills, the security guard, who tipped off the Watergate scandal.

These men could have turned the other way.  They didn’t.   They stepped up.  They and so many unsung brothers deserve our respect and admiration.  Grumpy or not, these ordinary heroes are what makes go.

I’d rather have Lance Orton watching my back than Skip Gates or Damon Dash.
