“The Black Matrix”
The late human rights advocate Malcolm X said that he believed that if you give a people a thorough understanding of what confronts them and how it affects their lives then you will get action. I too share these sentiments. In fact it is within the spirit of those very profound words that this article is being written.
You see I believe that far too many African Americans lack a thorough understanding of how white racism has sophisticatedly evolved and how it now detrimentally still affects their lives.
Currently when most African American discusses white racism these conversations are limited to those themes like driving while Black and of groups like the Ku Klux Klan. However, the most often used and most detrimental system of white racism that is now being used against them is rarely, if ever, discussed. Although most African Americans today do not experience the type of blatant white racism as previous generations, they do however still face white racism. Today’s system’s of white racism is implemented far more sophisticatedly and covertly in the 21st century.
The U.S. media’s distorted portrayal of Black America that amplifies the negative to the point that it distorts reality is more than just biased media reports. They function as psychosocial programs that covertly use the mass media’s social engineering and mass manipulative capabilities as a tool for ensuring the continuance of white dominance and control. Its constant relentless deplorable depictions of Black is deliberately designed to adversely manipulate and shape the collective conscious and self perceptions of African Americans by subjecting them to seeing only the fraudulent worst in themselves. And while although this psychosocial treatment of African Americans is less blatant than the earlier racist systems used in the past against them, its affects are very detrimentally real.
Unlike the blatantly brutal forms of racism used in the past, which Blacks were able to easily identify and therefore unify and form counter strategies against, this modern racist system is deplored like a massive domestic marketing campaign that prevails using the psychology of deception. Therefore, it is not easily recognized or even comprehended by most blacks– therefore most falls victim to it.
And although this racist system is less blatant than the earlier types previously used in the past against Blacks, it is more proficient and detrimental than any previous type ever before faced by African Americans. This program uses disinformation and propaganda to divide, conquer and ultimately suppress its Black population. To the detriment of Blacks, this system of applied psychological conditioning has been an extremely effective. It has successfully conditioned many African Americans to accept the dominance of Whites institution over their lives by misleading them to believe that they are themselves, their own worst enemies. Its unrelenting daily assault on the Black psyche drills the message that Blacks are powerless, of lesser moral, and intelligence and that they need Whites to govern over their lives. It totally detaches African Americans from their sense of power and reality. Moreover, it corrupts African Americans’ sense of racial unity and cohesion, mold the character of self-hatred, engender self-doubt, self-loathing, and distrust among their group while insinuating that Blacks admire, respect, and trust only Whites. Such feelings once infused into the Black mind engender an aberration of internalized self contempt among many African Americans that pulverizes Black unity and halts Black upward mobility.
This mass manipulation program is In fact, so proficient at damaging the Black self-perception that tragically it has become easier for many Blacks to accept derogatory premises of themselves rather than recognizing that they are being deliberately manipulated to hate themselves. Many Blacks may even begin to feel that there is something not quite right about their own humanity. While although most African Americans are unaware of this covert psychosocial program that is now being used against them, they’ve all witness its affects their entire lives. It is the answer to the long daunting question of what’s wrong with Black people. This racist system’s propaganda is being deployed in all sectors – government, media, health and welfare, entertainment, and education, etc- nationally and internationally. Its distorted deplorable depictions of Black America often conforms many African Americans to the caricatures being peddled by many white
conservative commentators. Because some of what it shows to Blacks is made to look cool many of Blacks youths are imitating ridiculous behavior and habits. It also causes many Blacks to develop contempt for their own race. It is responsible for the unprecedented degree of black self hatred; loss of unity, cohesion and racial pride; and fragile psyches now presently among so many African Americans. It is also the core reason of why Blacks are now perceived as being their own worst enemies and why whites are now perceived as being the race of the highest ethical and moral values despites a brutal history to the contrary.
It was this psychosocial treatment of Black America that actually derailed the emerging Black pride themes and Black power movement of the nineteen sixties and seventies. This program is the reason of why so many Blacks went from saying that “Black is beautiful to now saying pass me the skin bleaching cream. It is the reason of why the term of “my brother” has become replaced by “my nigger” among so many Black males.
It is also a contributing factor of why so many Black women went from wearing their natural hairstyles of corn rows and afros of the 1960’s and 70’s to now wearing the long hair weaves. All people are products of cultural conditions and their worldviews operate outside of their level of consciousness. Therefore, no group can be preconditioned to see only the worst in themselves and not exhibit some degree of negative psychological impact.
IT ALSO AFFECTS SOCIETY.
This psychosocial program is also designed to foster a national consensual setting of where Blacks cries for equality are lesser heard and their mistreatment appear more justified. Its deplorable portrayal of Black America is also designed to create a shift of victimization (in favor of whites) that changes the root problem of racism in America to be due to Black’s behavior rather than White’s proclivity for racism.
This creating prejudice distorted perceptions and acrimonious beliefs about African Americans that are designed to makes the nation and the entire world insensitive to their plight, tranquilizes efforts on their behalf, lessens pressure for social change on their behalf; and makes any serious criticism of White racism almost impossible today. This setting provides a false justification for the legal and judicial system’s mistreatment of African Americans. Wherein they are disproportionately incarcerated, given stiffer sentences, and are more likely than other racial groups to be treated unfairly or brutally beaten, and or even fired upon by police officers while they are unarmed. These injustices now goes ignored because the perception has become that it’s all now justified. When contempt of Blacks is made to appear to be justifiable, it is the fiercest and most effective type of racism because its witnesses, bystanders, and even world audiences will sit by idly allowing African Americans to be brutally mistreated under the belief that it is justified. It also affects attitudes that when enacted through governmental policies, laws, and other legislation actions, serve to ensure that African Americans will not advance. Its effects are manifested in ideas, education, governmental policies, economic stratification, social segregation, housing markets, hiring and promotion practices, psychological issues, and minority access to a variety of social services and opportunity. It was
this campaign that successfully stripped African Americans of the national and international support that was acquired during the 1960’s civil rights struggles.
The national media’s reports of its black population are totally comprised by white men and these reports in fact can be neither confirmed nor refuted by its Black recipients. This unfair arrangement has always given America ’s white elites the ability to collectively manipulate the self perceptions of its Black population. The objective of the United States government has always been to maintain its White dominance over its Black population, and clearly this mass media psychological manipulation campaign meets this need–because it covertly provides the U.S. government with a more socially acceptable method of continuing its White racial hierarchy of dominance and control given that it is not as easily recognized. For several decades the white elites have secretly used the media’s manipulation capabilities to influence society towards its governmental objective. These objectives have always included ensuring the continuance of their white
dominance and control. Through their fraudulent assessments the white media tells African Americans that they cannot govern themselves; that they are their own worst enemies; [Blacks own negative experiences with fellow Blacks merely act as confirmations to what is being implied through the white controlled media] Blacks then accepts these given negative assessment of themselves as true thus making it their reality.
I appropriately refer to this sophisticated system as being a Black Matrix designed to imprison mind, hearts and soul of Black people.
This sophisticated mental prison is the progeny of the late Dr. Edward Bernays. He was a propaganda and mass manipulation specialist hired by several U.S. presidents. He wrote that: “If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without them knowing it.” The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society.
Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.
Malcolm X fully understood the power of media and how it was being used during WWII to influence public opinion. He once said “The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power because they control the minds of the masses.”
The late civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. also understood that media could be an effective tool to advance the cause of civil rights and bring about change in the United States . Some of the American News Media at the time was an ally to the Civil Rights Movement and they frequently broadcast or published the brutal images of police dogs, fire hoses, bullwhips and cattle prods used against Blacks fighting oppression. These images stirred the consciousness and rallied popular public opinion against Jim Crow and segregation.
African Americans should not allow themselves to become complacent or be made delusional by the historically election of President Barrack Obama. They must recognize that America ’s white statuesque does still exist and still harbors deep-seated racial biases. It is more likely that the white elites (they that are the true rulers of the country and that maintain their powerful positions regardless of who is President) will instead use this historic presidency to restore America ’s eroded global image and standing in the world, rather than bringing true equality to African Americans. President Obama himself has stated that; “I have never been so naive as to believe that we can get beyond our racial divisions in a single election cycle, or with a single candidacy”. This media driven psychosocial treatment of Black people will continue to be used by the white elites regardless of who is sitting in the oval office of the white house.
The prospect for a better tomorrow will remain grim for African American –as with Blacks through out the world–as long as it is whites that are telling Black people who and what we are. To counter this immense program more of us Blacks must become aware of what is being done to us.
I’m therefore asking the readers of this information please copy and forward it to others. We must not be afraid to stand up especially when our liberation from despair is dependant upon it.

Although this literature references African Americans, much of what is discussed is applicable to African people throughout the world.
